There is just something about the sound of a full orchestra that enriches a classic, elegant social affair, such as a wedding. Mark Russos Classic Sounds, with their variety of music and diverse styles, adds just that touch.
A graduate of the Berkelee School of Music in Boston, Mark Russo is fluent in classical, jazz, and blues styles. He has been a woodwind instructor since 1990 and also is a faculty member at the Community School of Music and Arts. As a professional musician, he has toured with many well-known artists like Vic Damone, Mel Torme, George Kirby, and Albert King. He is an Indie Award nominee and KKSF play list artist. Classic Sounds has played for the Republican National Committee, San Jose Symphony Gala, and the Villa Montalvo
Gala Sponsors. Mark currently has two Christmas albums on the market:
"Instrumental Christmas" and "Season’s Silhouette."
Mark performs with a number of local and Bay Area talents. His group, Classic
Sounds, can perform as a trio for the ceremony, provide a jazz pianist for the
cocktail reception, then progress to a 12-piece orchestra for the reception.
Their classy setup and crisp sound are matched by their stylish performance.
At a wedding I attended, the brass section had the rich sound of a big band
without being overpowering. Mary Blaser dreamy renditions of "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Wish Upon A Star" were magnificent. Once dinner was over, they jazzed up with a dance session mixed with rock, pop, salsa, and a variety of contemporary favorites, bringing a classic sound to the classic event.
Clients and vendors rave about Marks accommodating manner and talent. "I cannot think of anyone who cares more about his music and clients, and the guests realize this when he plays."
