Steve Slaght the owner-operator of A Class Act Mobile DJ cannot imagine leading a life without music. When he started his business in 1987, he already had 10 years of experience in leading a popular dance-show band and five years as a radio and nightclub DJ. "It is all about my clients and their party," he told me. "I strive to provide them with the right music to help create a successful event. I love mixing dance music and taking requests. You simply can’t go wrong with a full dance floor." To reach that goal he offers excellent customer service from the first contact to the last dance. In order to make the entire experience memorable, fun, and stress-free, he will meet at least twice with his clients before the event. Then Steve prepares a detailed script to create the celebration they desire. During the final consultation he guides them through each stage. On the wedding day he is part of a team of event professionals that wants to make sure every aspect is taken care of. With an emphasis on class, he subtly acts as the support person directing the spotlight toward the bride and groom, at a level they feel most comfortable with.

"I probably talk much more in consultations than during the reception," Steve told me. He has a large library of dance music as well as a separate one of ceremony music. His main sound system is modular and can provide any size of event with a warm high-fidelity sound. A high-quality second system, complete wireless mikes for the officiant and bride and groom, is used for the ceremony.
