The only thing the husband requested for the 50th birthday party for his wife was: Make it so beautiful that she cries when she comes in - and that’s just what she did. Ann and her crew transformed the Flood Mansion with roses, lilies, and orchids into such a spectacular site and offered such wonderful food that the request of the husband was fulfilled. No matter where I saw her work, at a wedding in a mansion or, more recently, at the Maritime Museum, the buffets were always a symphony of colorful food, presented on fashionable platters and in baskets and glass containers. Accompanying the food were fresh fruit, vegetables, and bread baked in-house. A summer flower bouquet enhanced the setup for the wedding, and the turquoise tablecloth reflected the color of the sky.

Ann, who owns Melon's, is recognized as one of the Bay Area's most acclaimed wedding caterers and also is known for her creative theme parties. Many Bay Area companies are among her loyal customers. She catered for E-Trade, Sprint's bash "Fridays Are Free with Jay Leno," and the organizers of the MBA All-Stars. She and her staff are skilled at designing every aspect of an event, pulling from their resources to bring together the finest seasonal foods, entertainment, florals, decor, lighting, rentals, and locations. For almost 25 years, Ann has been providing the highest quality food and professional service, and has garnered client praise for her company's diverse cooking styles and creative presentations. At one event she was presented with an "Academy Award" for her appetizers by San Francisco Examiner food editor Jim Wood. Spectacular pictures in her office and in her portfolio show her work.

Ann will consult extensively with her clients and will go to great lengths to satisfy everyone’s taste. A full-time pastry chef prepares beautiful wedding cakes in Melon’s kitchen. To ensure high quality and freshness, the food usually is prepared on-site.
