"He was fantastic, very personable, listened to our wishes,
communicated them to the other vendors, made our life easy, and
provided us with a flawless event." "He is fabulous, made our
event go so smoothly, and reminded us of details we did not even think
about." These were comments from Geoffrey Gilmore's clients.
As a young boy, Geoffrey learned how to bake from his grandmother.
He liked it so much that he later perfected his skills by taking cake
decorating classes. Soon enough he was able to produce wedding and
special occasion cakes. Being such a nice and trustworthy man, he soon
had many of his
brides asking him for recommendations of other event professionals.
Geoffrey, also a high school teacher, started his event coordinator career
when he enrolled
in classes such as Etiquette and Sales and Marketing, organized by the
Association of Bridal Consultants. He passed them with Distinguished
Honor. During the years he has perfected his work and has helped many
couples with large as well as limited budgets. Among Geoffrey's
specialties are ethnic weddings and mastering difficult family
situations.
In the initial meeting he will explain his work and his
responsibilities. He has created a helpful checklist for bride and
groom and a CD with questions and answers. Two weeks before the
wedding he will send out an informational brochure to the wedding
party, guests, and vendors. It includes the names and phone numbers of the important participants, dates and timeline, and directions.
Out-of-town guests receive gift baskets with information about
local places
to see and ongoing events.
Geoffrey is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants
(ABC), the International Special Event Society (ISES), and he is the
regional consulting expert of the wedding channel.com. In 2002 he was
nominated for the "Creative Solutions" award by ISES.
