Bridget Brown saw a need for modern, chic and wearable bridesmaid
dresses, so in May of 2000 she opened Bella Bridesmaid! in the Marina
District of San Francisco. Little did she know that she was about
to make a big splash in the world of weddings, and the city was abuzz with
talk about her charming boutique. Bella Bridesmaid fills a niche that was
indeed in need for a long time.
Through a one-on-one, appointment only approach the bride and her bridesmaids
have a warm, intimate experience. Not only that, but she has draped her racks
with designs by Thread, Jenny Yoo, Simple Silhouettes, Miracle by Vanessa
Lundborg, Charsa, and Zora, all these dresses can all be worn again! Her
services were in such demand that she opened shops in Atlanta, San Diego,
and most recently in Seattle.
The new Seattle store is tucked away on the quiet upper floor of a building
in stylish Queen Anne.
Erin Conrad, store manager, met me one day to show off their new designs,
and to chat about the business. Immediately I was lulled into the tranquil
space, filled with beautiful silks and fabrics in an array of colors. The
walls are painted Bella's signature pale blue, and the curtains hanging
for fitting rooms are perfectly matched; it's an inviting place. Much like
Bridget, Erin is sweet and charismatic, with an amazing sense of style and
grace, and she will work diligently to ensure a bridal party success. Bella
Bridesmaid has been well-received in this town, recently featured in Seattle
Bride Magazine. They have booked appointments with brides from as far away
as Vancouver, B.C. and Boise, Idaho. They have styles and details for every
bridesmaid, and even the simple bride who wants to dress down for her own
wedding. There is no doubt brides of the Pacific Northwest will love the
experience of shopping at Bella, as so many brides and bridesmaids already
do. One bride wrote to Bridget:
" The dresses were definitely the icing on the cake!
They were fabulous and looked amazing on everybody. The color was incredible
and just added that 'pop' that we were looking for! I couldn't have been
happier, and believe me, we were not the only ones that were impressed
by them. I am still hearing about the dresses, and it has been three months
since our wedding! They really added a touch of elegance, class, and style
to the entire event! You were so accommodating and helpful throughout the
entire ordering process. Even though we had several girls (10!) to size
and order for, you made it very simple and easy for us to accomplish. Thank
you for making our day that much more special! Bella Bridesmaid definitely
made a name for itself on August 9th, 2003 in Livingston, Montana, and
I will continue to spread the word and recommend you to every bride I know!"
