This distinctive Brazilian drink is making its way around the world. Already enthusiastically embraced in Europe it is now on the rise in the US.
This drink is based on cachaça the Brazilian sugar cane liquor.
Note:
This is drink is strong! Know your limits!
Ingredients:
1 thin-rind lime
2 desert spoons of cane sugar
2 shots of cachaça
Crushed ice
Surprise your loved one with a homemade Valentine treat.
Cut off the ends of the lime and slice thinly. Remove any seeds. Place the lime and sugar in a glass. Using a pestle squeeze out the lime juice from the core of the fruit. (Do not press the rind, it will give the drink a bitter flavor!).
Add the cachaça, mix, then fill the glass with crushed ice.
Serve in a glass decorated with a slice of lime.
A fashionable variation of this drink use vodka ("Caipirusca") instead of cachaça.
